Good idea except for a fact that this is a hp laptop. I've personally have had horrible issues with their Comsumer grade laptops. An old ThinkPad would do just as well with this mod. Nice video!

Good work. But there is also USB-C to power port adapters available, incase anyone want to do this without damaging laptop. Max power for USB is 100W, so not for those heavy gaming laptops that use 150-300w.

I'm gonna try this. My 3 mechanical keyboards broke within just 2 years & I don't wanna keep buying every time a switch or two breaks. They're too pricey 😭 I use them for work & and gaming, so yeah...

My laptop(Asus X541 uvk) charger output is 19V. Can I Use PD board to make it usb type c? Or 20V instead of 19V will destroy My device?

i have a razer blackwidow v3 mini hyperspeed 65% and ive been pulling as hard as i can to get the switch on my spacebar out so i can switch the stabilizers wasnt able to get the switch out im not sure if its hot swappable but is it possible to get it out? ive pulled one of the switches out before on accident when i was taking one of the keycaps out so maybe its just stuck

awesome vid - this will be a big help. Hey would you know if you buy a mech keyboard (low-profile) with triangular stabilisers layouts rather than the standard straight aligned, if you could buy aligned stabilsers to change it? or is this something that is set by the holes in the PCB board?

I tried cutting my cables for the copper to suck away but never worked and left a whole lotta mess. With your method I just took the switch off effortlessly holy shit.

My Dell laptop has 3 USB-C ports, and all three are super unreliable. I'd rather USB-C be used just for device connections and not power. USB-C doesn't hold up over time.
